I read a very interesting report that said in effect, the Chinese and Russian fleets have been successfully blockading the western merchant ships for nearly three years now.
The U.S. is almost totally dependent on Taiwan for its microchip supply, but China has effectively disrupted that by encircling the island.
In the UK. parts are needed for military spares and replacements from abroad because we simply no longer have the industry to supply them, But the Russian fleet is closely restricting that.
If that blockade (as looks likely) cannot be broken then, in an important sense, the blockaded countries have collapsed.
This may explain the hysterical responses of some MPs calling for, for example, Britain to send troops to Ukie land (we don't have them).
But that wont change the geo-political fact that Europe became an outlying province of the Russian Federation some years ago.
