ASDA were open this morning, luckily I sent my husband shopping and got free parsnips and broccoli , carrots. So that was slung in the chicken stew as along with mixed peppers, leeks, onions , spud . sweet potato , cabbage , and garlic.
Yum!

I think most supermarkets were open, Margaret. Tesco (Arena) certainly was. Makes a lot of people look very foolish with their panic buying last week.

I guess most stores were open, but I just looked up ASDA opening hours for today, as it is close by.. Don't need to jump on a bus.
It is very convenient, and I have given up over purchasing food, as you say, some stores are open boxing day. Christmas gets too much hassle as you get older.

I've started seeing the first few early signs of spring over the last few days - bits of tree blossom here & there, and the daffodils starting to bloom.

The lovely daffodils and crocuses are covered in snow right now.
My rose bushes are budding, hope the snow goes soon and the weather starts improving.

Since my cooker packed up, I bought a Tower Air Fryer. but it is an actual little Oven with wire wracks for placing the food on. Which I like better than the drawer air fryers.

The bl**dy cat had three fledgling blackbirds over the weekend. I know I'm fighting nature but it really p*sses me off. I could understand if she was hungry, but she certainly wasn't.

Yes, its a shame when that happens rebbonk, It happens a lot and That is one reason I won't have a cat. Fortunately blackbirds will have 2 to 3 broods of chicks a year as many birds do. So nature looks after the survival rate and continuity of the species.
Kestrels a beautiful birds, but I have watched them also catch and devour blackbirds and pigeons in the garden.
Birds have many predators and their nests also can be raided by crows, magpies, and squirrels.

Mankind seems to do a good job of killing themselves off through violence towards mankind, I can't call that natural survival of the fitest, but some are evil and hell bent on self-destruction.

Margaret, I'm not a cat person at all.

This one literally knocked on the door one night, walked in and has never left. She's quite affectionate, on her terms but during the summer months prefers to live outside in the back garden. Come the cooler months, she's inside, usually to be found sleeping on my bed.

I've no idea of her age, but I made a death-bed promise to Anne that I'd look after her.

Rebbonk, I had that happen to me too, but the cat didn't stay long. I am a one for leaving the back door open which leads out to the garden. One morning a cat walked in the house , went to my son's bedroom and slept on the bed for half the day, I just let it sleep, then try and find out who's cat it was, but I never did. When she woke up, she left the way she came in, without so much as a by-your-leave, after I offered her some milk. I guess she had been out on the tiles all night and was looking for somewhere to sleep it off.
Funny old things cats are.
