So, at the very best (or worst) the effect of Brexit on the car industry are neutral. You make an excellent observation on unnecessary regulations, entirely geared, as it were, to the economic interests of another country.

Protectionism rarely works long term.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm rapidly losing faith in our PM: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-54566897

I'm afraid I never had any faith in him. The man is a buffoon of the first order and a proven liar. That he was the best that the Tory party had to offer speaks volumes about their membership. - And please, don't get me started on the other lot!

I'm no big fan of Boris either, but he seems to think he can steer the UK in the right direction. I haven't given up clinging on to hope yet. Better this lot than the opposition.

Labour don't seem to have any answers at all. At least Comrade Corbyn's gone.

It is said that a population gets the government that they deserve. I really wonder what we did to be graced with the 650 incompetents that we have?

I have long thought Mark Twain knew something... 'If Voting Made a Difference, They Wouldn't Let Us Do It'

Business are being encouraged to prepare for the big changes on 1st January 2021. If only they knew what the hell they're meant to be preparing for: https://solihullobserver.co.uk/news/times-running-out-is-your-business-ready-for-a-new-start-with-europe-25212/I had a go at the questionnaire on the gov.uk website. Most of the 'advice' was 'you might not be able to do this or that'.

It really makes you wonder, Lex. And Cummings (the grand architect of Brexit) bailing out early, does little to allay my fears that the great British public are about to be expensively kippered, again.

You can often tell a project is failing when those running it jump ship towards it scheduled conclusion. I've seen it happen several times over the years.

A slight bit of exaggeration on the part of the BBC (ONE ship's been diverted), but a hint of what we can expect from January onwards: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54908129

!This is what we are doing...." comes across loud and clear but it is what is behind the smokescreens that we should be concerned about.
