Where do they get their Clean water from and surely there toilet facilities can't be that adequate. Where does it all flush into?

Water is often extracted (illegally) from hydrants. The toilet facilities are usually chemical ones, but these need emptying, which can cost money. So if at all possible they will simply "go" wherever they can! - Bushes etc.

I was talking to someone recently. Some travellers set up camp near a friend's house; the first thing he did was tell them that if there was any trouble, whether it was them or not, he'd be getting his shotgun out & removing a few kneecaps. Strangely, he didn't hear a peep out of them.
