the thing about the groups
is what its all about
the homepage it looks empty
as though everyone is out
but take a look inside the group
the messages they hide
behind the subgroup categories
this forum is alive
perhaps a small adjustment
could help in some small way
to make the blank posts icon
disappear or go away

or maybe if we posted more?
we all have lots to say,
so say it in a virtual way,
and do it now, today!

What do you like to talk about?
Don't hold back, just let it out.
You may find a kindred spirit here
Your presence; let us be aware.
From town events and dismal news
It's always great to see your views.
For weather tips and places seen
Let's see those boxes coloured green!

goldfish swimming in a plastic bag,
bright lights flashing, water tastes bad.
two layers of plastic between him and his mate
doesn't really matter he'll soon be late.
kid throws a hoop to impress his girl
goldfish gasps and the neon lights swirl
the lads shot was true and a fish he did win
it died going home and got chucked in a bin
its called a fun fair but thats not really true
its not fair for the fish and not fair for you
too loud music sirens and smoke,
and you call it fun, its some kind of joke

Traditions are something handed down And many take place in a local town. Some bear a resemblance of days gone by But "today's world" approach; good sense will defy.
Apples that bobbed in a tub on a field Woodchopping does a strongman reveal Coconut shies and races with sacks Today's world of fairs; yesterday's spirit it lacks.
The past that is lost cannot be regained As time marches forward; our lives are retrained. Change the old ways for new; a curse or a blessing Mankind chooses the path, but with nature they're messing.

i will not change for changes sake
i want to live in the world of blake!
progress is a wondrous thing
but i have no taste for tat and bling
tradition is not its own reward
dont chuck just because you're bored!
you dont just change worlds overnight
its done this way, cos this ways right!
i'm not some luddite hiding in the gloom
i'll not forcast our imminent doom
but unless we remember lessons learnt
we will end up getting our fingers burnt

A true set of words it has to be said
Perhaps 'publishing' here will see our story read.
Please compromise and move the fair
Don't strangle the centre to hold it year after year!
There must be a field of suitable scope
Both fair and town having a future with hope.
Take the blinkers off and open your eyes,
And then will truth dawn; will you realize?
Act now with past, present and future in mind
So generations inherit and not become blind.
Few things are fair in love and war
The needs of the town should up there; the fore.

Come friendly bombs fall
on S-on-A.
It isn’t fit for one more day
Please my friend take it far away.
Cross over, Bridge!
Come, bombs and blow
To smithereens
The Royal Shakespeare
And its schemes.
Same play, new take,
Same words but fake
Hollow laugh, hollow crown.
Mess up the mess they
Call a town,
A second home for thousands down
And once in twelve a visit ‘home’
For twenty years.
