It does to my mind Lex. No doubt some fantastic intellectual will tell us why we're wrong!

And that they're genuinely good people who wouldn't cause anyone any trouble at all?

If the authorities can't help, do it yourself!

Councils find it a struggle to cope with these people: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/Times-NR-42pt-headline-heady-dy/story-28468612-detail/story.html

It's high time that councils started playing hardball with these freeloaders.

Confiscate a couple of caravans and I'll lay odds you never have any more trouble with them.

Ohh, no, you can't do things like that. That'll be harassment, against their human rights, and discriminatory to boot.

Three points:

1) You are TRAVELLERS

2) Travellers seem to prefer illegal sites over than the pitches supplied for them.

3) If you want somewhere permanent, BUY A HOUSE

Ref point 2, that's simply because the freeloading b*st*rds have to pay for 'legal' pitches.

I supose the houses will cause less damage than the travellers: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/Ex-reservoir-gipsy-site/story-28510536-detail/story.html

Looks like Nuneaton's going to get a traveller site anyway, despite what the local population want: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/Emergency-gipsy-site-ahead/story-28510963-detail/story.html

Wonder what our county councillors will say if a site was proposed next door to their homes?

Ah, yet another 'consultation' that was a paper exercise to tick the right boxes.

Perhaps if people started demanding re-valuations of their properties because of such blights things might change? - I'll not hold my breath, things are loaded against the 'little man'. But one day, the little man will wreak one Hell of a revenge on those that have ignored him.

There's some expensive looking hardware there. The courts ought issue confiscation orders to defray the costs involved in removing them.

Looks like Leamington might get a gypsy site - on green belt!

http://www.warwickcourier.co.uk/news/local-news/gypsy-site-plan-for-campion-hills-in-leamington-1-7305808

A friend of mine had a good suggestion yesterday - if these people want to travel around, build bothy-style accommodation for them, which they're entirely responsible for; maybe they'd eventually learn to keep them tidy.
