This case seems no closer to being solved, though: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-27238406 |

I believe that the truth is known, but proving it is rather difficult. Hence the prolonged arrests and bail... |

Link Emotive as this case is, surely 11 months on bail isn't on? Either plod have the evidence, or they don't. I'm no human rights advocate, but I really think this is an abuse of power. |

It seems to be the way things have gone over recent years - starting with control orders, then TPIMS, and now the police putting people on permanent bail or using the civil law route. 'Police State Creep' might be a useful phrase. |

But, of course, if we've done nothing wrong, we have nothing to fear. |

Yes, the legal process can be slow. My only hope is that a 'fair' trial happens and that those accused are not 'tried by media' as has happened in other cases. If the accused are genuinely guilty, I trust they will get a stiff penalty; but we cannot allow scapegoats just to appease 'the system'. I also hope (if the defendants are guilty) that the parents are finally allowed closure. |

2 men charged with Nicola's murder found not guilty. Sadly, this may become just another unsolved case: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-34843374 |

Having followed the case, I can't say I'm surprised at the verdict at all. In my honest opinion there was never a realistic chance of conviction from what I read. (Others have commented the same.) I really can't understand how the CPS decided they had sufficient evidence. Sadly, this can't have helped the family at all. They had their expectations raised only to be cruelly dashed. |
