I do remember being taught why when I was at primary school in Stratford, but it escapes me now and has been bugging me. Perfect place to ask really, does anyone know?

i believe they had to stop calling it a fun fair because of the trade descriptions act.... |

I've never been to Stratford Mop but I didn't know the origin of the term. Never thought that it was a recruiting fair. I don't know much about the county's history so I should probably get some books and do some research. |
