Is it worth getting those store loyalty cards to gain a certain amount points and special offers?
I recently filled in a form for Aubrey Allen Butchers points card but they cannot process it unless I can confirm that they can hold my details on file in connection to my loyalty card. I don't like giving consent to such things because I think they may use the information for marketing purposes etc..

We have a Tesco card. Our spending over 12 months usually gives us sufficient vouchers to pay for Christmas and New Year.

I really wouldn't be worried about giving them consent, because even if they do start using the data for marketing purposes you can opt out. To be honest, the EU data protection regulations are quite good.

Is the data protection regulations likely to change if and when we leave the EU?

Whilst I don't know for sure, I would think it very unlikely.

They don't Cathi, but we can take educated guesses. The Information Commissioner is unlikely to rescind everything in the immediate future. Maybe in a couple of years things will change, but then again so might the EU data protection act. Life is very fluid.

You are so right rebbonk.

I save my Nectar points for petrol, for long journeys.
Went to Bude a couple of months ago weeks ago- there and back and it only cost me 15.00 extra
