You'd be surprised what I've dismantled and disposed of that way over the years. Just takes a little time and patience.

Basically, I tried to drop it off after work, just after 4.00, but the tip had closed, and again just after 8.00 the next morning, but the tip didn't open until 9.30. I ended up dumping the vacuum cleaner in a commercial wheelie bin at work.
