Someone has their priorities very wrong!
Congratulations to India for the technological achievement. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-28268186
But when you consider it in the light of reality back home, is it right? http://www.ruralpovertyportal.org/co...ome/tags/india
Is it right that the UK sends "aid" to this country, in the light of the above?

That's what we do -the British!
Send aid for the stricken people, when we can't afford it, and pat them on the back for using the money for space rockets and such.
We'll never learn. Even so, our hearts are in the right place even if the money doesn't go to the right place.

I've developed the opinion over the last few years that if India can afford projects like this, and give aid to other countries themselves (ie Nepal), they don't need our money. If they've got spare cash for a space project, they can provide their population with decent housing & education.
We really need to get over our post-colonial guilt.
