Default National Air Traffic Control System Breaks

I remember this happening repeatedly over the last few years. Sounds like they don't have a backup in case this ever happens: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...elled-27608316

Incredulous, isn't it? This is the problem with going 'all online'!
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Indeed and they aren't stopping the 'modernisation' with Air Traffic Control, they have a similar agenda for the railways.
    Cool

Apparently, the whole problem was down to one piece of dud data being loaded onto the system, which promptly decided it couldn't cope & crashed.

The system wasn't up to it, Lex. There are 4 internal systems that external data needs to pass through before it reaches the main ATC system. It should have been trapped and quarantined, it wasn't.

The ATC system is internal and cannot be compromised by normal hacking, so at least we know that nothing like that happened.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
