It's beginning to wear a bit thin with me. If I wanted more money I used to seek promotion or move jobs.

It's a vicious circle it would seem. The cost of living has gone through the roof, salaries and wages haven't been going up which makes paying the massive price / cost increases even more difficult. Bins need to be emptied because not doing so increases the likelihood of vermin and associated issues but I understand the need to discuss a fair increase with those that pay them though again, it's a vicious circle.

Nobody wins in a strike. The union leader is a bl**dy disgrace bringing them out on strike, they'll never recover the money they've lost, but she hasn't lost a red cent, has she?
There are far more subtle and effective ways than striking! - Of course, that assumes that their grievance is valid.
