The war on the motorist continues...

They will eventually kill the golden goose!
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

The operative word is 'yet'! My bet is that some form of taxation by the mile will be brought in.

Well, they have managed to change things to extract more from pensioners. The reintroduction of NI comes to mind...
    Cool

I await mine with bated breath.

The way it's actually being administered is going to cost money, rather than save it. Why not simply add a line on your council tax bill introducing the rebate and drop your monthly payments? - Sorry, my old job of reducing waste and duplication is beginning to show!

As I was reading the article, I thought the checks were a bit on the bureaucratic side. A quick comparison of council tax records & the register of voters would suffice?

Apparently, and I haven't checked this, the government have agreed to pick up all the administrative costs of this little venture. Well, I really don't give a sh*t! Whichever way you want to look at it, it is OUR money being squandered and wasted by incompetent and inept (not to mention useless and unemployable) politicians.

Daughter had hers Friday. I'm going to wait until they simply remove it from my CT bill like they should've done from the word go.
