Default Leamington Spa redevelopment as a 'cultural hub' .

I may be a bit behind the times and unaware that the computer gaming is a vital part of Leamington's economy! So I was roundly told off in a local group for saying that I didn't see what was cultural about computer gaming.

''Computing gaming is one of the major industries of Leamington Spa and is a highly creative business sector that contributes to the local economy and is a form of culture. I believe that Leamington is home to more computer gaming companies than anywhere else in the UK. Do not denigrate it even if some of us don't use it. Don't be elitist about culture. Any such investment in Leamington should be welcomed. This looks like a discussion idea at the moment and we should all contribute our ideas. Great to see the council taking the lead for once''

Well, I wouldn't see it as 'culture' either but I'm a dinosaur and words tend to evolve over time.

But, Leamington is well known for computer games creation and if it brings in employment and money to the area, great. However, I find the idea of more food businesses in Leamington rather amusing.

What areas need are services/products that can be exported to other areas thus bringing in fresh additional money, not simply recirculating money that is already there.

I personally think this is a mistake. There are far better things to spend money on and develop.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

    I agree 100%.

I a sick and tired of their empty talk of pedestrianising the parade , I think that will be a disaster.
Plus cyclist are a pain the the xss. get in your way and negotiate their way round pedestrians , and don't attempt to slow down..
