I can't say I've seen anything particularly extreme as yet. In fact, I was looking outside earlier and remembered being outside on the flight-line preparing aircraft for flight in far worse weather.
We get a few storms a year; I honestly think the Met Office are nannying us or trying to justify their own existence.
Oh, another point. Many floods are caused simply because the gulleys are no longer regularly cleaned and flushed.
Bet I still get out for my Friday game of dommies and pint.

I guess if the Met Office didn't issue warnings they would be criticised. We were booked to go up to Scotland in October for a short stay, and lo and behold, they issued a warning of a storm hame which was Storm Amy. So we had to cancel. My sister who we were going to visit said we made the right decision to cancel.
Today its just dull, non stop rain and windy. Nothing too alarming, but its possible causing havoc on the roads, and its trees I worry about that can wearing in these conditions and come crashing down.
