I've never come across this method of electricity generation before:

This causes a few concerns to my mind

I think the real issue here is that we're going into the unknown. I can't help wonder if we'll suddenly be faced with lots of sinkholes opening up.

As regards the "cheap" fuel, I can't see the consumer benefiting. There are far too many interested parties for us to gain.

Just another illustration of what fracking does.

Yet another Oklahoma fracking earthquake. This current 2.7 magnitude making the 5th such event across Oklahoma in the past 24 hours.

The evidence is mounting against fracking, but it'll still happen here.

What might be interesting is just who picks up the costs for any damage to property caused as a result of fracking. I wonder if it will become difficult to obtain house insurance in these areas?

I'd imagine it would become more difficult to get insurance; it can be tough getting houses insured for subsidence, and I can see this coming in the same bracket.

As if by magic, plans appear to build a coal-gas power station:

It'll be fine; they've done this plenty of times out at sea.
