War isn't clean, nice, nor fought by the Queensbury rules. There are always going to be war crimes as long as there are wars.
It's very easy for us sitting in the relative safety of leafy Warwickshire to get upset about such things, but it's a very different case if you are in the theatre of war.
I believe many of those being "detained" there would fair much worse if they were released to the Afghan authorities.
It only takes one upset for views to rapidly change, as we have seen over the recent London killing. Normally staid and sensible people are losing all sense of reality and making some very outlandish calls. We really do act on emotion and not logic at times.
The other point I would make with that article is its source. The BBC have their own agenda, as has been exposed in some of today's papers. They aren't exactly impartial.
(Not having a pop Lex, just saying how things seem to me.)
