A tragic ending for such a young person, I feel sorry for the parents, but what can you say, they have been warned of the dangers horsing around on railway tracks etc...

As you say, it's drummed into them, yet they still think it won't happen to them. Sadly, it often does!

I totally agree that it is an absolute tragedy and my thoughts go out to the parents, however, even with such a tragedy making headlines will it serve as a warning to others who embrace such activity? I doubt it. The warnings are there but they still trespass on railway property which, aside from breaking the law is such an incredible risk to lives.

It won't stop anything Shizira, apart from a very brief 'shock' period with those that know the deceased.
I've never understood it. Electricity is a silent killer, you can't usually see or hear it. Trains are big heavy things and they crush you without feeling, as do cars.
I once knocked over a teenager with a car. She'd been playing 'chicken' with her mates. I didn't even see her, I just felt the bump. I thought I'd hit a fox or the like. The driver behind, saw what happened and told the police that I simply didn't stand a chance. The police didn't even take a formal statement from me, they just asked me to produce my licence and insurance.
The outcome was that my insurance company had to pay out for an ambulance and the girl's parents tried to sue me for breaking their darling daughter's leg and damaging her career prospects. - Such caring parents. The accident happened at about 5.15 in the evening and her father was drunk as a Lord. The attending police officer had to threaten him with arrest!
Very sadly, the witness that helped me out knocked down a teen in similar circumstances a few weeks later. Nobody stopped to be a witness for her.
