It was obvious to a blind man. Trouble is, we've lost green belt land and can't recover it. I personally think an investigation into who has profited from this is in order.

I was going to say a few Conservative Party donors, but I think all this 'we need X thousand houses building every year' started under the last Labour government.

It's truly a cross-party phenomenon, Lex.

Stratford's in the top 10 nationally for new houses; great if you fancy living in a £400,00 plasterboard box: https://www.stratford-herald.com/news/stratford-hits-top-six-for-most-new-houses-9234635/

13 months of roadworks on the Stratford - Evesham Road to accommodate new housing in Stratford: https://www.stratford-herald.com/news/evesham-road-roundabout-works-could-cause-traffic-delays-9239883/Along with 6 months of work on the Shipston/Banbury/Wellesbourne Road & Clopton Bridge Junction, and a couple of years of roadworks on the Brum Road, Stratford ain't going to be a great place to drive

That's a lot of homes for a small place like Nuneaton and it will need a lot of supportive infrastructure. We really need to question why we're needing so many homes across the country, because we are already overcrowded.

Woods are to be dug up for housing in Bedworth. So much for preserving/expanding the country's woodlands: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/in-your-area/new-homes-could-built-part-23486589

Again, why do we need these properties? Who is making money from all of this?

Part of me suspects that a lot of housing developers have 'donated' money to the 3 main political parties over the years. Plus, am I right in thinking a property is still liable for Council Tax whether it's occupied or not? A nice earner for councils if it is.
