It's fantastic to see a hardware shop opening, instead of closing: http://www.rugbyadvertiser.co.uk/news/local-news/new-rugby-hardware-shop-keeping-old-traditions-alive-1-6663764
Sadly, Stratford lost its hardware shop - Lacey's - a few years ago. Thankfully, we've still got a good store in Wellesbourne.

We lost our local hardware shop about 15 years ago. - I miss it!
When I was a kid, we had one at the top of the road. It was a real gold mine and the guy that ran it was incredibly innovative. If he hadn't got what you wanted, he could usually adapt something to do the job.
Sadly, the big out of town stores saw these small shops off. Now even they are closing down. We've already lost Homebase, now it looks like B&Q are closing stores. For the guy needing a tap washer in a hurry, he's stuffed now.
