I tried running a few years ago, but gave up after a few months as it started aggravating an old ankle injury.

A very good cause, but not something you'd ever catch me doing. A brother-in-law of mine used to do a lot or marathon running. Whilst he's a couple of years older than me, he walks far worse than I do, even when crippled with gout. Running has ruined his leg/ankle joints.
