To a certain extent, the BoE is complicit in this, as it has repeatedly failed to do its job. Carney (the last BoE governor) was a waste of space, and the present one's career to date is hardly spectacular. It is time that we started holding people accountable for what we employ them for. Pay them minimum wage and anything above that needs to be earned by hitting pre-defined, and measurable targets.
Guess what? You won't get many of these 'chancers' apply!
