Re: Ukraine
Peace in Ukraine might be possible if Ukraine's actually involved and there's a consistent approach: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... euvre.html

At least Stammer has done something useful for once, and talked the orange idiot down.

Somehow I don't think it'll change much...

Things are escalating somewhat, now that Ukraine's been allowed to launch missiles at Russia: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14096437/Sweden-citizens-prepare-WAR-Pamphlets-stockpile-food-water-sent-five-million-households-growing-fears-NATO-Russia-conflict.html

The problem here is that this is no longer defensive, but aggressive. Ukraine has rapidly lost its 'victim' claim, and the West is now going to need to fund things. This might get very messy, not to mention expensive!

I didn't actually believe this happened when I 1st read about it: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cze5pkg5jwlo

Seems to be a lot of sabre rattling going on!

Did you know, that the Harriers that Camoron [Sic] virtually gave away to the US are still superior in most ways to the F35s (bought at great expense from the US) that we have now? - Follow the money and you often see the bigger picture.

A lot of money is being thrown at the military across Europe over the next few years. No doubt the UK's effort will be the same halfarsed shambles of overspending on useless junk as the last 30 years: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13415427/Europe-gears-war-Nukes-Russias-doorstep-conscription-18-arms-factories-whirring-life-continent-faces-doomsday-WW3-scenario.html

Scaremongering, but we need to look behind the headlines for the reasons. - Follow the money!

Conscription, this week's bit of scaremongering: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13005835/Is-Britain-ready-World-War-III.html

Interesting.

Russia has stated that any BAe plant in Ukraine would be a target. I'm unsure if this is a provocative move or not, but the ramifications might be fascinating.

BAE's jumped on an opportunity: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66679312

According to today's Daily Telegraph, we (UK) were well briefed on this little uprising and what to expect. Ukraine was advised not to 'rock the boat' and it is most definitely assured to anyone listening that NATO (or any members) had anything to do with the rebellion. - Yeah!

It's always a case of 'Better the devil you know'. It's a lesson the West always fails to learn.

Yes, and no. The question is, if Putin is toppled, who will replace him? There are plenty of a much worse disposition than Putin, and at least we have the measure of him. A 'new face' might just be prepared to use nuclear weapons and s*d the consequences.

Putin's mercenaries have turned on him. A good opportunity for Ukraine to take advantage of the Russians being distracted: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-66006142
