It must have caught on; Look what happened to Corbyn..how both the govenment and the media try consistantly to get rid of him.

French far-right party defeated in regional runoff elections
I can't help thinking what went on here was undemocratic. The 'existing' parties deliberately kept out the newcomer. I truly hope that this nasty, undemocratic, tactic, doesn't backfire.
