Topic review - Vulcan Arrives at Wellesbourne Airfield

I doubt the Vulcan will ever move from Wellesbourne Cathidaw.

Whilst it might be OK for ground runs, I can't see it getting a flight permit to move anywhere else. That leaves the back of a lorry, but in order to do that so many of the aircraft systems (and airframe) would need to be broken down that it'd never be a runner again.

I don't think the future looks very good for this one.

There are mumblings about Stratford District Council issuing a compulsory purchase order for the site (another massive council tax hike to pay for it?), and talk of legal action, so things are a bit up in the air at the minute.

I thought Wellesbourne Airport was sold for the building of a housing estate. How long is the Vulcan staying there?

558 was the last flying Vulcan. I think it's now based at Doncaster Airport. They've run out of money (again) and are sending the begging bowl round. Sadly, a few of people behind it are making far more than they ought be.

Is that another local Vulcan?

The same day that Vulcan 558 announces severe funding difficulties.

Vulcan Arrives at Wellesbourne Airfield
An interesting piece of history: http://www.stratford-herald.com/64797-vulcan-video.html

It's a shame the Wings & Wheels event had been cancelled this year.
