Rover (Solihull) made turbines at one time. Government interference saw the work moved to RR.
Locally, Noel Penny Turbines were based on Siskin Drive by Baginton Airport.
We led the world, and then the idiot government (once again!) agreed to let the Russians have a few of our jet engines to power their aircraft. Surprise, surprise the good old reds reverse-engineered them!
