On the hour of twelve the clock doth strike;
Will this year bring another tax hike?
The old year passes we welcome the new
A happy new year, to you, you and YOU!

the clock ticks down and the year is done
and its not been without a small dash of fun
now everyones out to drown it in beer
and to start another brand new year

i hope your resolutions can be kept without trouble
and your hopes for yourselves come true, only double
as i stagger into the storms for a party
i wish you 12 months that are both hale and hearty

You could go as Doctor Who
Or our swarthy mate ol' Cap'n Blue.
Arrive in style in a time machine
Or swagger in; on your rum barrel lean.

Crank up the barbie and sling on the steak
You've worked hard all year ;(right?); you deserve a break.
As for the snow upon your shoes
I think you be dreaming and loosened some screws.

Ah, it's a hard life; no one said it was easy;
Let your hair down for New Year and hope that morning's not queasy.
The clover will be in your springtime lawn
More use to the bumblees; than the imagination you spawn.

Eat, drink, be merry; there goes the diet
More fun with your mates than going posh at the Hyatt.
When midnight arrives will you sing Auld Lang Syne
And wonder if the ability to walk will decline?

yes crimbles gone, and riddance to it!
enough of pudding of plum and suet
begone all that psuedo bon-homie!
tear down the tinsle! burn that tree!

but why so down on the christmas break?
cos i spent the week with a stomach ache!
and just to make the day a winner
a fox had my chickens for his christmas dinner!

so on to the next excuse for booze
and round to my mates with snow on my shoes
to see the year off and glad its over
will 2007 see me in clover?

new years eve is fancy dress,
to go as actor (or actress..)
what to wear and who to be?
cant think of a filmstar that looks like me

now before the insults wear to thin
i'm not going as rin tin tin
to save me from a day of persperation
someone lend some inspiration...

A guid New Year to ane an` a` and mony may ye see!
Christmas came and Christmas went and now it's Hogmanay.
What is the connection with hogs I ask; as Auld Lang Syne they play.
A time for resolutions and drink filled frivolity
"A guid New Year to ane an` a` and mony may ye see!"

In bonnie, whiskyed Scotland, an extra day for recovery
It would seem the English are diddled out, of the 2nd of January.
Prepare ye now for the year's end night and to welcome in the new
"Hoog min dag", "Homme est né" ; whatever it means to you.
