Re: Canal to be Used to Transfer Water Between Regions
There have been piping networks installed around parts of the country during recent years, but it's expensive and disruptive.

The problem with using canals is that you effectively turn them into rivers, and that can cause erosion of the banks, etc. The canals are not maintained in the best of condition, and a few burst banks or sinkholes would be a touch embarrassing.

I think we need to bite the bullet and go for piping. Maybe then we can choose which water company supplies us, as we do with gas and electricity?

Canal to be Used to Transfer Water Between Regions
I've always found it strange thet none of the water regions are connected to each other, although the subject id brought up occasionally (usually when the south-east has a drought!). Maybe this will be the start of a change: https://rugbyobserver.co.uk/news/reside ... al-scheme/

The 'consultation' was at the usual inconvenient time for these things.
