Re: The Weather
I suspect that I'll be cutting mine over the next few days. I was actually enjoying the freedom of not cutting it.

Done.
The grass in my area has made a patchy recovery - patches of green surrounded by areas of grey/brown; hopefully it'll all recover in time.

Re: The Weather
I'm afraid I posted by mistake on the discussion about Travellers Sites . Can it be deleted please.
I was just saying since the rain that our grass has recovered very well now from all the crispy brown dry grass, it is a pleasure to see it all green now. It feels weird not having to mow the lawn for about 3 months or so.

I haven't had a great year on my allotment, either.

Re: The Weather
The damp weather over the last couple of days seems to be making up for the dry spell.

Re: The Weather
Everywhere is tinder dry, it only takes a spark. Which is why I'm surprised that people are having BBQs.
I remember brush and scrub fires in the 60s, but today's are on another scale.
However, a lot do seem to be deliberately started.

I generally buy just what I need. Any offcuts go in my allotment compost bin.

Re: The Weather
You have a valid point, Lex. It is certainly true that people waste a lot.
I try not to waste anything. If I throw food away (incredibly rare!) I consider that I have failed in my meal planning.
Then again, I was a six-sigma black-belt specialising in the removal of waste.

Seriously?!? I've given up on listening to people gripe about the cost of living, especially with the amount of halfwits sat in their parked cars with their engines running.

My mate actually still has his on! - Hard to believe, but true!
[quote="Lex"]The Red Cross is advising people to turn their central heating off during the upcoming heatwave. I know there's a lot of daftness in the human race, but how stupid do they think we are?
