Personally, I think the green credentials of electric cars are non-existent; follow the cables back from the charging points, and you'll find yourself a load of nuclear, gas & coal fired power stations.

Electrical cars are (at the moment) totally impracticable for most people.
Got a diesel or petrol car? Two minutes to fill it. How long does it take to refuel an electric car? - That is the biggest drawback! Then we might consider range, or the cost of the replacement battery when it (inevitably) fails... Frankly I wouldn't touch one with a barge-pole.
