I love Stratford, the town is great for shops in IMHO, they do have department stores such as Debenhams and BHS, and and good book shops.
What more do you want ??

We have limited choice in Leamington, lots of restaurants/cafe's though.

I would like to see here, a Debenhams, BHS , and perhaps a Waitrose. not too many QS, quality second shops.

Yes, and what's with the pointed shoes now for men ............. I went in House of Fraser shoe departmet, to look for a pair of shoes for my sons birthday and all I could see was pointed shoes everywhere, absolutely no choice, so its winkle pickers or nothing, sheees !!

and they are stupidly expensive.

Icannot believe people want exactly the same shops in every town.
It is what the planners say we shall have
As if no-one can live without Debenhams etc on their own doorstep..
The days of going out for a shopping day another city are nearly gone. Every town will look the same so there will be no point.

So Mari ---------now you know why you can only get winkle pickers in these large departmental stores. THEY say YOU WILL HAVE THEM!

I see what you are saying, and you do have a point Cathidaw.
It's just that I don't have a car like most folks, so a bit more variety in Leamington would be very convenient for me. I am not just thinking of my position, I am sure there are others who would welcome my suggestions.

No department store will dictate to me or force me to buy kitch I don't want, I actually complained to the manager of the aforementioned store. However, I did find sensible shoes in Clarkes.
