Combine Chit-Chat and General Chat?

Hi all,

I thought I'd get your feedbck on this. I'm thinking of merging the chit-chat forum and the Warwickshire General forum.

My reason being is Warwickshire General chat doesn't have to just be about Warwickshire. Just what people in Warwickshire are talking about. It would of course inherit popular the sub-forums too.

This aim of this is to further declutter the forums, and make it less confusing as to where to post. It would also make the most popular forum at the top of the page instead of the bottom.

Also while I'm here, I've been thinking that the reason WO isn't as popular as it could be, is that it isn't useful enough for people in Warwickshire. DO you guys have any suggestions on how I can make it more useful?

I've tried the Wiki idea, but I think I may soon end it again, as it's never been popular and google seems to want to refuse to index it in any case.

Combining the 2 chat forums seems to be a good idea to me.

Maybe have a forum for the local councils to have their say - an area for press releases, public discussions, consultations etc?

I rather like that idea-sometimes I think I've missed things--good to have it altogether.
The site will perhaps look more interesting to 'others'

I think the public announcements and sometimes boring council stuff should be together too. Then councils and others will be able to see what is going on and maybe use it more instead of searching around.

Ok, I've been a bit slow on the uptake here, but I've just noticed the groups forum has disappeared (poetry etc..) I enjoyed reading the poerty, would you consider bring that forum back and introducing other groups forums Will??

Ooh, I don't think I meant to switch that one off, I hadn't realised to be honest. It's now restored.

I'll see what others think about combining the two general chats, but it's looking like a popular idea so far.

Oooh, yes, please switch the poetry forum back on. Christmas is coming and you never know there might be some new rhymes to add.

I agree with the combining of the two groups to help with the decluttering.

Perhaps with Christmas coming and most of us out and about would it be an idea to have a forum or even thread with bargains spotted by the members? Info that could be included would be where, price, date.

Is it me or is the clock on the timer thingy for the posts reading the wrong time when posts are added? It was I'm sure. Cathidaw added a post about Precision Antennas loss after I did this afternoon. It said 10:08 this morning.

It is wrong, I'm adding to this as I've looked again and the time thing is saying 04 something. The Clock's gone dodgey Will.

Yes it is, I've been trying to sort out that problem for a while now, without much success. It's because this site is hosted on America's west coast. This problem only arised when I upgraded the forum. The problem is VBulletin insist I'm just doing it wrong, while I know I'm doing it correct and it's a fault with the software.

Will sort it out somehow, but it is very annoying.
