a suggestion- HOTBOX - Page 2

I do think we need more people joining in discussions here, but maybe there aren't enough members, or perhaps the topics do not appeal. Why not suggest a few- how about a "Theme for the month?" as you say, and then change to another-it could be tried out but it must be a public discussion--there has to be controversy of course to make it lively-but to have what is virtually a 'secret' discussion is not on ,is it. What do others think?-- no-one has get too agitated - or lets get extremely agitated but not offensive -well -dont you think the site would lose a few people if its private.which it cannot afford to do?.
Also I never feel that this is a 'family meaning cozy' site, or I would not have stayed . ( cant stand most blog sites) I enjoy it. Not being the intellectual I fool myself into thinking I am ,I'm hoping that at sometime a bit of culture will rub off on to me .
However --the 'silly games'---it's only a bit of fun-(perhaps some dont think it fun), but if I join in at least it shows that I have been on line and looking even if I have nothing much to say--which is not often I must say.

I have another suggestion-----perhaps silly too.
How about a photographic competition, also monthly and then deleted so that it doesn't clog up the site, with a theme each month and see what the members can come up with. Stretches the old grey matter too.I can think of a few themes.
Everything in life does not have to be serious-as my Dad used to say-" have a day off"- especially when he clipped me around the ears for being 'lippy'.

Two things. I didn't mean to say the games were silly (I apologise) they're just not for me. And secondly, where did this idea come from that the hotbox idea should be private? Apart from that I agree totally with what Cathidaw writes.

Photo compeitions work well. Most forums use them.

I agree with the concept Ron, but that sort of chatter does not usually bode well for the public front of the forum and will usually lower a sites reputation. Far better to have it members only, trust me.

I ahevn't forgotten about this BTW guys, just very busy with the 'Charidy' thing, and broadband breaking down a lot.
