Default What do you lot think about this?

A cardinal sin when starting a new forum, is having more forums then you have people to fill them with posts. That is why I've deliberately kept all the town forums as sub-forums.

But on the other hand, I was wondering if people would think they were worth taking note of for, if I made them main forums. This would make the the forum look quite a lot larger, and may make it look emptier as a result. But I'm slightly tempted by the idea, and was wondering out of interest what you all thought.

If there is one thing I have learnt about you Will is that if you have an idea in mind you are keen to get it off the ground.

If the benefits outweigh the disadvantages and the disadvantages are those that we can deal with by all means, but I would suggest a trial basis to guage the level of interest and response.

Thanks Shiz,

Currently, I'm thinking I'll leave it a bit longer. Things are definately starting to happen around here, which is very encouraging. I'm going to keep things as they are for a month or two now, and see how it goes.

Personally I wouldn't. ATM, you have the main forum page sitting nicely so you can see all the forums without having to scroll.

If you want to see how bad it is, here is a mild example WXforum.net :: Index try finding a needle in that!

Good lord, that has to be one of the worst cases of 'too many forums' I've ever seen! Has nobody told them?

They had twice as many on the old forum, but lost it when the host went bust - even lost the domain name.

crikey! my eyes went funny looking at that lot I read weather photography as weather pornography.
I'm not sure, I think leave it as it is, the only reason I haven't sub foum'd all my hobbies and interests on mine is because I can't list them in the main page like you have, it makes it the list look awfull long though and people can see threads and post counts of little used forums before they go in to it.
First thing you see when you get here is the list of towns, your home town always screams out.
