New directory structure

Will,

Noticed that the revamp has included a change to the directory structure (now prefixed with /forum). What impact is that having on the stats and the referrals?

Do you have a redirect in position for the cached search engine pages?

I went through a major change with URLS and (SEO) Search Engine Optimisation recently so I'm just wondering how you are finding the transition.

My Referrals are all off kilter at the moment, due to some strange reason, but that's nothing to do with the change.. I hate the forum site map on the main page, robots are finding everything fine. No noticable change really.

Thats good news. Sounds like its just the fixed links from other sites, direct to threads that may cause a problem then. May be worth putting a redirect in .htaccess

Ah, good you've put your vbseo on, now you will see if you have any linkbacks, once the URL's get indexed again - lol

Dont keep changing it, now you have it on, leave it on. Swapping and changing will do more harm than good.

You're right, I may have to change VBSEO slightly, as I haven't really wrapped my head round half of it yet. Basically, I've turned on pretty much everything that wasn't already on. Apart from a few things which either don't apply or sounds possibly detrimental.

People finding the site via search engines has already quadrupled, so I call that a result at least.

Just got to hope the next google update is kind to me.

Be careful with your digg icons etc, if you allow guests to get them, you may find digg etc blocking your site due to too many referrals.
