I think so, but I can't say I really notice them anyway - they're just another bit of street furniture.

Some of the walkways around the Bancroft have reopened. They look good; shame about the already tatty looking tarmac by the river though - hope it it gets replaced by the paving as per the rest of the paths.

It must be time for another visit to Bancroft. Have avoided it since they decided to change the way it was, but tarmac? Did they run out of money in the money barrel and resort to a path of tackyness? Thank goodness there are rare times that the UK sees a heatwave that melts tar because it sticks to your shoes. I agree with Lex, replacing with paving would make a much improved appearance.

It could be a case of cutting costs - there was an article in last week's Herald that the project had run over budget (denied, of course, by the contractor!).

I saw it the other day, and it looks pretty permanent. Where once there were paving stones alon the waterside, there is now a nice long strtch of tacky looking tarmac. This must be part of the 'World Class' vision for Stratford.

Looks like they've been taken down. Don't know if they'll be put back up again.
