Default Bulldog Bash

The Bulldog Bash is back in Stratford again this weekend. Adn as always, not a minutes bother from any of them. Wish some of the locals were as considerate. Hoorah for the BB!

Its usually a good do, I havent been for years though..

This seems a bit odd, and I might be jumping to conclusions, but.. BBC NEWS | England | Coventry/Warwickshire | M-way closed following shooting

I only heard about this on the news this morning. It'll be very disturbing if it is a gang shooting; the image of the whole Bash will take a good knock. If there is ever any trouble, it's kept 'in house' & delt with by the bikers themselves - often even the police don't get a look in.

Apparently there was a heavy police presence at this years event - were they expecting trouble?

Usually the event is noted for being very peaceful with a low police presence.

The police do not go into the bulldog. Its er... 'self-policing' the organisers deal with any trouble quite efficiently on their own. The police will be covering the roads and such like only.

Just quoting the facts - there is a large police presence that is unusual for this event.

BBC News Player - Driver describes M40 scene you need the pictures of murder scene report, not the one this directly links too.

although its not clear if this presence is a result of the shooting or if it was there prior too the incident.

Another one of these customs with a history I haven't heard of before. Looks like I will be doing a Google on it later so I don't appear too ignorant!

Murder has definately been confirmed. The post mortem showed up a bullet wound to the biker's head. The police's main line of enquiry (or at least the 1 the press has latched on to) is a green Rover.

Do you mean the bikers are a bit like the Mafia in dealing with problems ?

I'm saying the bulldog runs on respect, so in a way, yes. Very few (sane) people would go to the bash looking for trouble, be nice if pubs, clubs and football matches were run like that, maybe?
