Job Cuts at Sitel

I've read in the Herald and on the BBC website that Sitel are redeploying/laying off 100 people due to British Gas moving the service inhouse. Fingers crossed they find another job:

All we keep reading about these days are job cuts left right and centre! Its awful!

British Gas making cuts is quite shocking though as they have made loads of money according to some dude on the BBC a few wks back talking about gas prices and profit margins etc etc...

Making the cuts is bad enough but with all the money they save by doing so I don't see much passed on to the long suffering customer.

Apparently, a lot of the people affected are being offered redeployment, so it's not as bad as it originally looked. :-)

Oh ok so they get offered a job in another part of the company or something instead???

I still agree with Shizara on the savings that never seem to get passed onto the consumer! It is awful to think how much the price of goods just keeps rising and rising, even though such cuts are being made! People are just so greedy aren't they!? I mean it has to be going into someones pockets at the end of the day!

Sitel have contracts with loads of different companies, so anyone on the British Gas contract will get shifted onto another contract.
