Default New Hobby

I'm bored & need a new hobby! Does anyone have any suggestions? Just need something for the odd evening & a few hours over the weekend - nothing too heavy on the committment steaks!

What are commitment steaks - are they rare or well done??? Maybe a culinary course would be of interest???

If you don't want anything strenuous, you are welcome to join me in the AOL Pub Quiz chatroom most nights between 9pm and midnight - the only thing you need is a sense of fun & a broad general knowledge (it also helps if you can type quickly)

Well there's walking/rambling (I can give you more info on these if interested), perhaps take up a sport...

or, there's an adventure group called Spice that I'd thoroughly recommend. Has activities for all kinds of people with all kinds of interests.

Check out www.spicebham.com for more info on the group more local to us.

If you joined, you wouldn't look back.

Alternatively, I can get you this months brochure with the next few months actitivities in it if you're interested.

Let me know if can be of any more help.

I write stories - something you can dip in and out of...

Or how about photography?

In today's world of digital photography - unless you prefer to stick with rolls of film - it makes life so much easier. I am a pointNclickaholic especially now that I am not tied to the processing fees. Like writing poetry I don't exactly stick to a theme just whatever is there at the time that looks interesting. I do take the same scenes when revisiting places as you can compare changes, some of them rather profound. Either, as Leofric says can be dipped in or out of and even taken as far as you wish to take them.

Show us some of your pictures Shiz.

Lex, I think you should buy a bike and go cycling, there so many great off road and beautiful areas to explore. You could take a camera too.

You can see some of my pictures on martinnike.fotopic.net.

I haven't used my new camera much yet, so I'm planning to take some more of Coventry when the weather improves.

Thanks for your suggestions guys; I'm liking the general outdoors theme, especially now we're getting the odd bit of nice weather!
One thing I've always fancied is canoeing/kayacking - might give all of them a go. Now, where's my camera.......

Lex, I studied photography and can reccomend this as a hobby also as you can take it as far as you like and as you righly say, with digital there are no processing costs ( although I did have my own darkroom) I was a pro photographer for a few years and did some great jobs ( one of them photographing page three girls for a while ) Its funny but in this last year I have had bigger jobs and I dont do it for a living anymore !!!
If anyone has any questions on Photography, I would be only too pleased to help. Keep snapping and send me some of your shots
