It's been a few years since the paths round here have been tended.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
The canal towpath near Stratford is in really good condition, but gets steadily worse the further away from town you get.
Our towpaths were in really poor shape, but around 2000 a lot of work was done to them and they were really good to walk along. Sadly, there's been no investment/maintenance since then and that's now beginning to show.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
It's often the way. Money is invested in something, but maintenance is neglected due to 'budgetary reasons', and ends up costing more to put it right again.
