    Default Unitary Authority for Warwickshire?

Devolution by centralising local government - that'll work: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...apped-18594652

Would this also be an opportunity to bring council taxes in line ie increase them?

They don't go down, do they?
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

The district/borough councils aren't ruling a Unitary Authority out, but they think we should be 'consulted' on the idea: https://www.rugbyadvertiser.co.uk/ne...r-grab-2952688

The county could even get it's own mayor: https://www.rugbyadvertiser.co.uk/ne...culous-2974266

You need a Mayor as much as you need another hole in the head. Take a look at our Mayor, the most ineffectual, useless holder of public office ever!

The changes to local government are looking more inevitable; the article even talks about collaboration with the WMCA: https://www.stratford-herald.com/112...wickshire.html
