It is sad to think what happens to missing persons in the area.

It's taken a while to get round to examining the bones: https://www.leamingtoncourier.co.uk/...d-week-2851954
Not putting two and two together, but I understand that Nicola Payne's parents have been advised of the find.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
Yes, I've heard that. Apparently, the police have just told the family that 'remains have been found'.
The remains have been confirmed as being human: https://www.leamingtoncourier.co.uk/...-human-2860330

Not meaning to be flippant, but how horrible that poor person perished and never discovered. Could have been homeless or something.

Looks like identification's going to difficult, as the remains are only a partial skeleton. It could just end up being an unsolved mystery.
Nicola went missing 30-odd years ago; she's/her body's never turned up: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/al...t/nicola-payne
Turns out the skull's medieval; wonder how it got there?

How very mysterious .
Maybe from an old church sarcophagus or crypt .

Might be worth looking upstream for old graveyards.
