Default Keep calm, drink more tea....

Hello, it is good to be back and a lot of catching up to do. It is thanks to the email I received this morning from Warwickshire online I was able to find my way back, so though I know it is probably automated I appreciate it anyway.

How is everyone coping? All keeping well, albeit confined to barracks as it were? I still have a full time job but a few weeks ago were were stepped down. For a while I had been going into Birmingham to work and the station was getting quieter and quieter then positively surreal so now am catching up with myself at home which in some respects is not a bad thing.

Like many I am caught up in the tidal wave of that wonderful, inspiring man, Captain Tom who I believe is now an Honorary Colonel and received some wonderful 'gifts' including having a train named after him, a number 1 charity record with Michael Ball, cards from the Royal Family, personal video call from the PM and a fly past. He is a true reflection of the wartime spirit and attitude and a very humble man.

    Good to see you back.

I believe my situation is best summed up by that old, rude, acronym: SNAFU. The only real effect on me has been the removal of the beer in the afternoon club.

I'm amazed at Captain Tom, he's an inspiration to us all.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Nice to see you too! You might need to have that afternoon beer in the garden if you have one and it isn't too cold, just don't wear your kilt.

Welcome back, Shizara. I hope you have been keeping well.
I have have also been following news of the now Colonel Tom and his marvellous and extraordinary feat at the ripe old age of 100. I believe he has raised £30 million. They don't make them like that anymore.

Hi Margaret, I have been keeping well. It's nice to see you! Several times I have tried to get back, even tried a Google search but it didn't come up in any of the searches I did. I have been perusing the forum reacquainting myself with things and of course went looking for the poetry corner and the loooong story we contributed to. I need to read a few pages to get back into it but it is begging to be added to.
