    Default Leamington railway fatal incident

    A statement from the transport police says: "Officers were called to the line close to Leamington Station at 2.25pm today following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

    "Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.

    "Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.


    "The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."



    A spokesman for National Rail said: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Hatton and Leamington Spa and this is causing disruption to trains between Birmingham/Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa.

    "Trains may be delayed or cancelled until at least 4pm."

    A spokesman for CrossCountry trains added: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident, one of our two routes between Birmingham New Street and Leamington Spa is blocked. All our trains on this route will need to travel via Coventry and delays are expected due to congestion."
