    Default Crossword Clues

A clue from a crossword a while ago, and still can't get.

It is seven letters, and the straight forward clue is Liquor, and the cryptic clue is, Mood not induced by drinking wine?

    I'm stumped.

    Spirits
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

I have won the odd prize, but I used to set one every month for our employees.

And you are most certainly not stupid, it is the compilers' job to make things difficult.

Thanks for your vote of confidence! I like doing crosswords and find them challenging.
Here is a famous one from the Times from many years ago (I'm sure you'll get).
The clue is gesg - two words - nine letters and four.

Edit to add that I googled because I know nothing about ancient queens

    Saturday crossword.

    Easy clue... Little ball

Cryptic clue - Female in France amid exercise has little ball.

Presumably the answer is Pellet, but I can't for the life of me see that in the cryptic clue.

    A French female = Elle
    Exercise = PT

    P Elle T

    Pellet

Rebbonk, In the words of Frankie Howard, My gast has never been so flabbered!

PT, of course, I can't get over it!

Brilliant workings out on your part!

Sometimes those cryptics can be bewildering.

Yes, I used a mix of cryptic, anagrams, word play and simple clues.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
