Unhappy Warwick Wool shop set to close.

The loss of this valued wool shop that I have relied on over the years is soon to close, really saddens me.
There just aren't may of these old fashioned, friendly and very helpful shops left.

I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Do people still knit? I always preferred jumpers knitted by my mum to the shop bought ones. Not only were they warmer, they lasted longer.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

A real shame, and the district council doesn't seem to have helped matters.

Knitting is probably not as widely popular as it used to be, though when I used to visit the wool shop there were usually several customers ahead of me waiting to be served, rarely I went in there and was first to be served.
I still knit when I get the chance, I have a jumper on the needles at the moment , and I also knitted a few poppies for St. Mary's Church in Warwick. They received all in all about 70,000 poppies. I didn't knit
near 1000, but I donated what I knitted. There is a craft club, including knitting in Leamington which I was thinking of joining, so I can meet some knitting ladies.

Thankfully, there is still a good shop in Leamington that sells wool and fabrics, which I use all the time if I am making curtains , etc. But I still think the wool shop in Warwick were the cat's whiskers.

My old shop -an art shop -is now a wool shop and appears to be doing well. I hoe so we were there for 35 years.
