Unhappy Marks & Spencers closing branches

If this post is in the wrong thread please remove, I didn't know where else to put it as it concerns businesses countrywide.

It worries me that Marks & Spencers will gradually be closing Branches , the latest announcement I read in the news is the Sutton Coldfield Branch is to close and the locals are devastated.

I do hope they won't close our Branch in Leamington Spa.

IIRC, they pulled out of Nuneaton a few years back.

Sadly, it's a case of use them or lose them. Their rents are high, their staffing costs are high... they just can't compete with the on-liners.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

I don't want to buy food online, I like to see, feel, choose quality stuff.

    That is the problem, Margaret.

Unfortunately, many people want to see and feel the products, then they go and buy them on-line because it's cheaper. From a store point of view, it's totally unsustainable. Something has to change if we aren't to lose the high street completely.
