Still no rain down my way - only 4 hours late (although, there was only a 64% chance of the wet stuff). It looks like I'll have to water my allotment after all!

I was walking the dog and felt some rain. "Oh b*gger" I thought, "I'm going to get wet." But that was literally it, just a couple of spots.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Oh well, it was only a shower. Still, better than nothing.

Slight dampness in the air over north Coventry.

More dampness. Usually when we get this there's a nice 'earthy' smell (petrichor) in the air. But today it just stinks of stale exhaust fumes. Reminds me of when I used to repair exhaust measuring equipment.

Had a bit of proper rain this evening, but only enough to get the grass wet.

You cannot cure stupidity! - But a 9mm piece of lead does sometimes help reduce the level.

We're in for a temporary reprieve from the sun. Hooray!

As I took the dog out tonight a couple of spots of rain fell, but nothing to wet the ground properly. In fact, I'm beginning to think if the dry spell continues much longer I'll have to run the car through the car-wash.

    The car's clean now!

I did manage to walk the dog between showers though.

I was at the Game Fair today - managed to find some shelter before I got too wet.

The dog had a wander in the garden tonight. When she came in I was expecting dirty wet feet needing drying off: but no, she was quite dry. That afternoon downpour doesn't seem to have had much wetting effect on the ground.

I checked my allotment last night, and the soil was still bone dry an inch down; I reckon today's rain didn't do much to soak the ground either.
