Default Try to buy a half pint size tin of household paint

I tried to get a less than 2 litre size of dark brown paint for outside use.
pLENTY OF VARNISH stain BUT NOTHING ELSe.
The sort we painted our houses with years before PVC. £20 jUST FOR A BENCH.
I'd get a new one but this was my Dads, and is 85 years old and came from Harrods. AAAH!! they knew how to make things then.

I NOTICE Band M also only do Dulux products now.
How I hate that shop with its dead atmosphere.

Over the last few years, I've discovered a few old-time small town hardware/ironmonger shops scattered around the southern half of the county (Torry's in Warwick, Morris Mica in Alcester etc) that are Aladdins' Caves for those type of things. I don't know your end of the county as well as the south, Cathi, but I'd imagine there'd be similar shops around north Warwickshire/south Leicestershire.

Failing that option, my local branch of Robert Dyas has occasionally come up trumps for items I needed, but couldn't get in your usual DIY outlets.
